| Remarks: |
The basic rhythm section
(consisting of "tack" piano, rhythm guitar, bass guitar and drums) was
recorded on January 24, 1975 with Terry Brown engineering and Doug
Riley playing piano. The string section, woodwinds, and xylophone were recorded on February 6, 1975 with arranger Doug Riley conducting on the session. The background vocals were recorded at various tape speeds to achieve a "choir" effect. The "whistling" heard in the opening verse and the "pipe-smoking" sounds preceding the guitar solo were performed by producer, Terry Brown. The whistling was later "doubled" by a Moog Sonic V synthesizer playing the identical melody. |
